Description
Similar to Butterfly Blue, Pink Mist scabiosa is a mound growing perennial with silver-green leaves and soft pinkish-purple clustering blooms atop tall reaching stems that attract butterflies to anyone’s garden. This plant produces its beautiful blooms from late spring until first frost. Deadheading extends the blooming season and cutting back in the fall ensures a successful following season. The Pink Mist scabiosa can grow to about 18″ (45cm) tall with the mound spreading 15″ (37cm) wide. This plant prefers full sun and partial shade if placed somewhere that receives harsh afternoon summer sun and thrives in well-draining soil with medium moisture. This variety of scabiosa is drought tolerant and had hardiness zones from 3-7.
