Imperial Antique Shades pansy (Viola × wittrockiana) brings a soft blend of antique red, pink, yellow, cream, and white tones to cool-season displays. Compact, mounding plants typically reach about 6–10 inches tall and wide. The colorful blooms suit flower beds, edging, window boxes, patio pots, and mixed fall or spring containers.
Growing in Alabama: Plant pansies in fall as temperatures cool for color through much of winter and into spring. Choose full sun in cooler weather or morning sun with some afternoon shade as spring warms. Use fertile, well-drained soil, water at the base when the top layer begins to dry, and avoid soggy roots.
