Description
Coleosaurus coleus ‘Coleosaurus’ coleus (Coleus scutellarioides) is a vigorous foliage plant with dramatic burgundy and chartreuse leaves edged in bold, serrated shapes. Its striking colors make it a focal point in mixed containers and summer garden beds.
Growing and Care
Plant in fertile, well-drained soil with partial sun to shade. Morning light can bring out the leaf color, while some afternoon shade helps in Alabama’s strongest heat. Water regularly, particularly in pots, and pinch stem tips for a bushier plant. Remove flower spikes if you prefer the plant to put its energy into foliage.
Size and use: About 14–28 inches tall and 16–24 inches wide. Tender to frost and commonly grown as a warm-season annual.
