Description
Yellow Crookneck is a classic summer squash with tender yellow fruit and a curved neck, useful for sautéing, grilling, and baking. Harvest is typically about 45–60 days from planting under favorable conditions. In Alabama, plant after frost danger passes and soil warms, in a site with at least six to eight hours of sun. Space plants for airflow, enrich well-drained soil with compost, and water deeply at the base during dry spells. Pick squash young and frequently for tender texture and continued production. Monitor for squash bugs, vine borers, and powdery mildew, especially during humid weather.
