Description
Trusty Rusty coleus has showy rusty-red leaves with broad green margins and serrated edges. This vigorous foliage plant grows roughly 18–36 inches tall and 24–28 inches wide and works in large planters or landscape beds.
Growing in Alabama and the Southeast
In Alabama, give morning sun with afternoon shade or bright filtered light for dependable foliage through summer. Plant after frost in fertile, well-drained soil and water when the upper soil begins to dry. Pinch growing tips to encourage branching and remove flower spikes if you prefer leafy growth. Containers may need daily moisture checks in midsummer. Protect from frost or root cuttings indoors.
