Description
Taishan Orange French marigold (Tagetes patula) produces large, vivid orange flowers above dense, finely divided foliage. Its upright, compact habit reaches approximately 12 inches tall and 10 inches wide, ideal for sunny beds, edging, and containers.
Growing Taishan Orange in Alabama
Plant after the last frost in full sun and well-drained soil. Water at the base when the top of the soil begins to dry, taking care not to keep roots soggy during humid weather. Space plants to allow air movement, remove faded blooms as needed, and feed lightly rather than heavily. This warm-season annual flowers through much of the growing season but will be damaged by frost.
