Description
Graffiti Bright Red pentas brings clusters of vivid red to fuchsia-red, star-shaped flowers above lush dark green leaves. The compact, bushy plants provide a long warm-season display and attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. Depending on growing conditions, plants may reach roughly 1–3 feet tall and wide.
Plant in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil after frost danger passes. In Alabama, pentas thrive during warm weather when many cool-season flowers fade. Water deeply when the upper soil begins to dry, especially in containers, but avoid keeping roots waterlogged. Light feeding during active growth supports continued blooms; deadheading is optional but can tidy plants. Provide good airflow during humid summers. Pentas are frost-tender and are generally perennial only in USDA Zones 10–11, so grow as summer annuals in much of Alabama.
