Description
ColorBlast Double Magenta portulaca produces vivid magenta, often double-petaled blooms above succulent green foliage. Its low, spreading stems spill over containers and fill sunny spaces with summer color.
Growing and care
Give this moss rose full sun and fast-draining soil. Water to establish, then let the soil dry somewhat between waterings; consistently wet roots can cause problems. Alabama heat suits this plant, but protect it from frost. Its flowers may close during cloudy weather or late in the day.
Size and uses: About 8 inches tall and up to 20 inches wide; ideal for hanging baskets, patio pots, and sunny bed edges.
