Description
Candy Showers Deep Purple snapdragon (Antirrhinum majus) brings purple-pink flower spikes to flexible, trailing stems. Unlike traditional upright snapdragons, this variety spills attractively over the sides of baskets and combination planters.
Growing in Alabama
Snapdragons prefer the cooler parts of the growing season here. Plant in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil, and water regularly without keeping roots soggy. They perform especially well in fall and spring; flowering may slow during prolonged summer heat. Pinch or trim lightly when needed to encourage branching and remove spent blooms for a neater display.
Size: About 6 inches tall, spreading 16–20 inches. Uses: Cool-season hanging baskets, raised planters, and border edges.
