Description
Antirrhinum majus Liberty Yellow is an upright snapdragon with sunny yellow flower spikes and green foliage. This Liberty-series selection is useful for borders, containers, and cut-flower arrangements, with plants commonly growing around 18–22 inches tall and 12–14 inches wide under good conditions.
Growing in Alabama
Plant in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil during fall or late winter for the best display. Snapdragons thrive in cool weather, and Alabama’s fall-to-spring seasons are much more favorable than the hottest summer months. Water regularly while establishing, then keep soil moderately moist without waterlogging. Remove spent flower spikes to encourage continued bloom and feed lightly if needed.
Give plants room for air movement in humid weather. The bright yellow flowers combine well with purple pansies, blue violas, and ornamental cabbage in seasonal plantings.
