Description
Graffiti Violet pentas produces lively clusters of violet to pinkish-purple, star-shaped flowers above pointed green leaves. The upright, bushy plants are useful in summer borders, pollinator gardens, and mixed containers. Mature plants commonly reach about 12 inches tall and may spread up to 24 inches, depending on conditions.
In Alabama, grow Graffiti Violet in full sun with at least six hours of direct light and fertile, well-drained soil. Water regularly while plants establish and during extended dry periods, allowing the upper soil to dry a little between waterings. Light monthly feeding during active growth can encourage flowering. Deadheading is not required, though trimming faded clusters can keep plants tidy. The blooms attract hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. Pentas are sensitive to frost and are generally grown as warm-season annuals in most of Alabama.
