Description
The Royal Hawaiian Maui Gold is primarily grown for its interesting foliage which consists of textured chartreuse leaves that sit atop similarly colored stems. At maturity this plant can grow to measure about 24-36 inches tall and 18-24 inches in spread. The ideal growing conditions of this plant are nutrient rich well-draining soil, in some sun or shade, with adequate watering. The soil should be kept moist, but not waterlogged, and should not be allowed to dry out completely to prevent wilting and discoloration of the leaves. The Maui Gold prefers an atmosphere with high humidity. The hardiness zones of this plant are 8a to 11b. The characteristics of this plant make it perfect for container planting or landscaping.
