The Black Magic is cultivated for its remarkable foliage, characterized by its strikingly large luscious smokey purple-ish and green leaves. At maturity this plant can grow to measure about 3 to 6 feet tall and wide. The ideal growing conditions consists of nutrient rich well-draining soil, in some sun and shade, with adequate watering. The soil should be kept moist, but not waterlogged, and should not be allowed to dry out completely to prevent wilting and discoloration of the leaves. The hardiness zones of the Black Magic are 8 to 12. The characteristics of this plant make it perfect for container planting or landscaping.
