Description

Morning Light grass, an ornamental variety, boasts a distinctive shape and slight ivory variegation, making it a standout in any garden. It often retains its coloration in milder winter climates. During its blooming period, Morning Light grass produces petite ruby-red flowers in the late summer or early fall. These blossoms gently transition to a silvery white hue as they age, offering appealing winter interest. At maturity this plant can grow to measure 4 to 6 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide. The ideal growing conditions of the Morning Light grass are full to partial sunlight, in moist well-draining loamy soil, and adequate watering, letting the top layer of soil dry out between waterings. Propagation can be done by division in the spring and foliage should be cut to the ground in the fall in order to encourage a productive next season. The hardiness zones of Morning Light grass are 5 to 9.
