Description

Clemson Spineless okra ‘Clemson Spineless’ is a classic southern okra that produces straight, dark-green pods on vigorous plants. Its relatively spineless pods make harvesting more comfortable, and the tender young pods are excellent fried, stewed, or added to gumbo.

Growing and Care

Sow or transplant into full sun once soil has warmed in late spring. Okra loves Alabama heat and needs well-drained soil and regular moisture while establishing. Pick pods frequently while young and tender; letting pods grow too large can make them tough and slow new production.

Size and use: Plants commonly reach 3–4 feet tall. First harvest may begin in about 56 days under good conditions.
