Description
Big Bronze Leaf Red begonia makes a bold summer display with red flowers above handsome bronze-toned leaves. This easygoing, mounded begonia works equally well as a mass planting or as the centerpiece of a large container.
Growing in Alabama
Grow in well-drained, organically enriched soil. It tolerates a range of light from sun to shade, although morning sun and afternoon shade are helpful in exposed Alabama gardens during midsummer. Water consistently while plants establish, then adjust to weather and container size; do not let roots stand in water.
Size: Approximately 12–15 inches tall with a 15–18-inch spread. Best uses: Flower beds, patio pots, and baskets. Treat as a frost-tender seasonal plant in most of Alabama.
