Description

Hypoestes sanguinolenta. Splash White is a bush growing plant that branches out with oval, pointy shaped leaves and is primarily grown for its foliage that speckled green and white. From late spring to summer this plant produces small tubular flowers. It thrives in sandy well-draining soil, requires partial sun, and has average watering needs. At maturity this plant can grow to measure 1-3 feet tall and 1-2 feet wide. Splash White has hardiness zones from 10-11.

Splash White polka dot plant grows well in Alabama containers and shaded beds during warm weather. Choose bright indirect light or morning sun, keep the soil evenly but not excessively moist, and pinch stems to encourage compact growth. Bring indoors before frost; it is not winter hardy outdoors in most of Alabama.
