Description
Cool Wave Fire pansy (Viola × wittrockiana) bears dramatic purple-and-yellow blooms on spreading stems. Its trailing growth brings bold color to cool-season containers and garden beds.
Growing and care
For Alabama gardens, set out plants in fall and enjoy them through winter and spring. Provide sun to partial shade, fertile soil with good drainage, and regular watering. Feed periodically during active growth and remove tired blooms as needed. High summer temperatures generally end the display.
Size and uses: Typically 6–8 inches tall and 24–30 inches across; especially effective in baskets and combination planters.
