Description
Easy Wave Red Velour is a spreading Easy Wave petunia with abundant deep, velvety red flowers and dense green foliage. The rich red blooms make a dramatic contrast with pale flowers and chartreuse foliage. Plants typically grow about 5–7 inches tall and can spread 2–3 feet, making them useful in hanging baskets, window boxes, patio pots, borders and as seasonal groundcover. The flowers may attract visiting pollinators.
Growing in Alabama and the Southeast
Give this petunia at least 6 hours of sun and fertile, well-drained soil or quality container mix. Water when the upper soil begins to dry, soaking the root zone without leaving pots waterlogged. Feed container plants regularly with a balanced fertilizer according to the label, and trim back leggy growth to encourage fresh branching and flowers. In Alabama, Easy Wave petunias are especially showy in spring and fall; prolonged midsummer heat and humidity can reduce flowering. Allow air movement around plants, avoid constantly wet foliage and protect them from hard freezes.
