Description
Silver Fox Mangave displays a rosette like growth of silver-green foliage outlined with light yellow spines that give the leaves a serrated look. After a few years, they will produce tall spikes adorned with lavender and white flowers in the late spring to early summer. After blooming individual heads will die but the new offsets continue growing. The mature size of this variety is approximately 1′ in height and 1.5′ in width. These plants do well in large pots or in the ground given the ideal conditions. Those being, well-draining sandy soil, in a place where the plant will receive sun most of the day and being watered regularly in the summer months and rarely in the winter. The Silver Fox Mangave is drought tolerant with the hardiness zones being 9-11.
