Description

Native to South Africa the Blue Chalksticks plant is a dwarf semi-trailing succulent that gets its name from the slender cylindrical blue-green leaves. This plant produces blooms of small creamy-white flowers that rise just above the foliage in mid-summer to early fall. Unlike most succulents the Blue Chalksticks plant is winter growing and summer dormant. At maturity this succulent can grow to measure 10″ to 1 foot tall and 2 to 3 feet wide. It prefers sandy well-draining soil, in full sun to light shade, and low watering. The nature of this succulent makes it perfect for rock gardens, succulent gardens and mediterranean gardens. The Blue Chalksticks succulent is drought and heat tolerant and has hardiness zones from 9 to 11.
