Austrocylindropuntia subulata. Gumby cactus is an interesting plant that has green cylindrical stems with yellow spines and spike-like green leaves. This is your typical small cactus that prefers to grow outside rather than inside, thrives in full to partial sun and does not handle cold well. If in a cooler environment it is best to plant the cactus indoor and allow ample sunlight. The zones of the Gumby cactus are zones 9a-11b. This cactus does not require repotting often and can be propagated by seeds or offsets.
