Description

The Purple d’ Oro daylily produces lavender-purple flowers with chartreuse throats that rise above its lush green leaves, blooming consistently from spring until the first frost. These plants mature to heights of 1-2 feet and widths of 2-3 feet. They thrive in full sun, nutrient-rich soil, and require regular watering. Propagation through division is recommended every three to four years to promote abundant flowering. The blooms last a full 24 hours before dying, which is why they are known as “daylilies.” These flowers are appealing to butterflies and hummingbirds and are both heat and drought tolerant. They hardiness zones of the Purple d’ Oro daylily are 4 to 10.
