Description

Euphorbia monstrose. The Monstrose cactus is a small interestingly growing cactus that presents twisted, contorted, and irregular stems that resemble the claws of a monster. This cactus is the perfect indoor cactus as it cannot take direct sunlight, but it needs to receive 6-8 hours of light per day. The ideal spot of this cactus is indoor near a window with a sheer curtain or in a room with ample natural light. Too much sunlight can lead to brown spots or patches whereas to little sunlight can cause the cactus to become leggy and weak with pale or yellow leaves. Over watering this cactus can be detrimental. During the growing season (spring to fall) the plant should be watered once a week, whereas during the winter when the cactus is dormant it requires much less watering and can go up to four weeks without needing water. The ideal temperature for this cactus is from 60°F to 85°F (15°C to 29°C). However, it can tolerate temperatures as low as 50°F (10°C) and as high as 100°F (38°C) for a short period. This cactus thrives in the zones 9a-11b.
