Adiantum hispidulum, Rosy Maidenhair

Category:

Description

The Rosy Maidenhair fern’s leaves emerge with unique rose-colored tones, maturing into dark green or bronze shades. At maturity this plant can grow to measure about 2 feet tall and wide. The ideal growing conditions of this plant consist of well-draining soil that is rich in organic matter, in partial to full shade, with adequate watering. The soil should be kept moist, but not waterlogged, and should never completely dry out to prevent wilting and discoloration of the leaves. The Rosy Maidenhair fern prefers an atmosphere with high humidity but can tolerate average humidity. To encourage more growth this plant can benefit from fertilizer, at half strength, once per month during the growing season. The hardiness zones of this plant are 7 to 8.
