Description
Pink Vygie (Oscularia deltoides) is a spreading succulent with purple-toned stems and small, three-angled blue-green leaves. In spring and early summer, it can produce masses of pinkish-purple daisy-like flowers with bright yellow centers. Plants generally reach about 6–12 inches tall and can spread 2–3 feet, making them attractive in wide pots, rock-garden-style containers, and sunny patio displays.
Give this succulent a gritty, fast-draining potting mix and bright light with several hours of sun; some afternoon protection can help in Alabama’s hottest weather. Water thoroughly, then allow the mix to dry before watering again. Avoid heavy garden soil, prolonged rain saturation, and standing water, especially in winter. Pink Vygie is frost-tender (commonly listed for Zones 10–12), so grow it in a movable container in most of Alabama and bring it indoors to a bright spot before freezing temperatures.
